Your data, your choice. Requests processed within 30 days.

A. Delete from the App (Recommended)

The fastest and most reliable way to delete your account is directly from the app. Your account and all associated data are removed immediately.

Permanent deletion. Once confirmed, your streak, play history, stats, and account are erased and cannot be recovered.

Steps

  1. Open the What Was That? app on your device.
  2. Tap the Settings icon (gear) in the top-right corner of the home screen.
  3. Scroll down to the Account section.
  4. Tap Delete Account (shown in red).
  5. A confirmation dialog will appear. Optionally select a reason, then tap Delete Account to confirm.
  6. Your account will be permanently deleted. You will be returned to the welcome screen.

Anonymous users: If you signed in without a Google or Apple account, you can still delete your account using the in-app steps above. The web form below requires an email address — anonymous accounts have no email on file and must use the in-app path.

B. Request Deletion by Web Form

If you no longer have access to the app (uninstalled, lost device, or account locked), you can submit a deletion request here. A team member will verify your request and process it within 30 days.

Note: This form requires a valid email address linked to a Google or Apple account in the app. Anonymous accounts (no email) must use the in-app deletion path above.

We will review your request and respond within 30 days, in accordance with Google Play's Data Safety policy and applicable data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA).
